Really short show notes this week folks. Not really a whole lot to say about the show other than Josh and I are joined by Alton Marschall from down around Texas way to share his setup and ideas on Media Center and Sage TV. Just a quick note. Jere and I got a great email about our last show covering Windows Home Server and HTPCs. We just couldn’t bare to wait until August to talk about it. I recently had a storage issue on my Windows Home Server. I run a WHS with only one 250GB drive in it as I haven’t had a chance to build a proper server yet. As well, I’m waiting to see what will happen with codename: Vail before I invest in the hardware. Anyway, the storage issue forced me to remove two of my PCs from the WHS.
Of course, once I had the issue resolved I wanted my PCs getting backed up so I needed to reinstall the Connector software …

For being the slow time of year, there sure is some great Media Center related news out there. It’s only about one month until CEDIA kicks off and hopefully we’ll have even more to talk about then. For now though, we get a chance to talk about some 3rd party applications as well as a new feature that’s coming to Windows 7 Media Center.
For me personally, the biggest news this week is that Show Analyzer has gone public beta. That means that everyone can start skipping those commercials. Just …

I’m enjoying having a home server. Mine has been running for about a month now and overall the experience has been great. When I heard that Power Pack 3 was going to up the ante when it came to Media Center integration I knew I had to try it. And try it I have. While I’m happy to have the new integration, Power Pack 3 does have a few glaring shortcomings.
