Entertainment 2.0 #88: Tweaking SA and Kinect Invasion

With summer being such a slow news period there just isn’t a whole lot going on anywhere.  Media Center related or not.  Everyone is spending time outside and our HTPCs just don’t get the workout that they do in the fall.
That said, Josh and I were able to find some MC related stories this week.  They’re not all directly related but the articles and topics covered will help add to your enjoyment of your media.  Have a look at the links below.
Don’t forget that our listeners help make our show …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 75: The Jerk From Toledo

The end of April is finally here and we’re joined by Jere Jones of Dragon Global this week.  First we get to hear what’s in store for the most popular commercial skipping software available for Windows 7 and we also get to help give away an InfiniTV 4 from Ceton.  Jere was good enough to give it away live during our recording on Wednesday and we appreciate it.
All three of us get to weigh in on what Windows Embedded Standard 7 including Media Center means for the community and …

Win an InfiniTV4 from Dragon Global!

CableCard is all the rage in the Media Center community right now and for good reason.  With the impending release of Ceton’s InfiniTV4, people will have a multi-tuner solution that will allow them to record four HD streams at a time.  The tuner will release on May 31st and while you can pre-order now, Dragon Global is giving you a chance to win one during the month of April.
Contest rules are relatively simple.  Just head to Dragon Global and purchase a copy of Show Analyzer some time before April …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 67: The Plugin Show

Back for the first week of March and while news is slow, we’ve decided to take a look at some of the great plugins that are available both within the 10 foot interface, and that simply compliment Media Center.  Whether we’re talking about metadata retrieval, content management or adding new functions, the apps we cover during this show are just a sample of what’s out there.  You’ll find links to all the applications we discuss right below.
We didn’t have a whole lot of email this week and we’re hoping …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 40: Netflix, Anti-Pack and Show Analyzer, Oh My!

For being the slow time of year, there sure is some great Media Center related news out there.  It’s only about one month until CEDIA kicks off and hopefully we’ll have even more to talk about then.  For now though, we get a chance to talk about some 3rd party applications as well as a new feature that’s coming to Windows 7 Media Center.
For me personally, the biggest news this week is that Show Analyzer has gone public beta.  That means that everyone can start skipping those commercials.  Just …

ShowAnalyzer V1.0 Beta Now Publically Available

Many people were extremely excited when we announced back in May that Dragon Global was releasing a private beta of ShowAnalyzer that would work with Windows 7. Unfortunately, the beta was time limited, and that time limit has run out for most people by now.  Jere Jones, the creator of the ShowAnalyzer, has more great news for all of the people who were beta testing the great software, and for those who weren’t able to get into the private beta.
ShowAnalyzer Version 1.0 is now available as a public beta. This …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 32: Pop Pop!

Time for another show here during the first week of June, 2009.  Thanks once again to those who joined us live.  Unfortunately they probably got the best listening experience this week as the title of this week’s show references the fact that you’ll here some interference during the show.  We’re not sure where this came from considering that no one heard it while recording the show.  With changes we plan on making for next week’s show, this will be the last time we’ll have to put a note like …
