Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 Review

I’m enjoying having a home server.  Mine has been running for about a month now and overall the experience has been great.  When I heard that Power Pack 3 was going to up the ante when it came to Media Center integration I knew I had to try it.  And try it I have.  While I’m happy to have the new integration, Power Pack 3 does have a few glaring shortcomings.

Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 First Look

As promised!  Have a look below at a quick look at the new Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 beta and the new functionality added to Media Center.  I’ve enjoyed toying with the new addins so far and though I did have one hang up, it was an easy fix.  Everything is running pretty smoothly now.
Hopefully we’ll continue to see further WHS/MCE integration.  The two offerings from MS would work well together on so many levels.  With WHS being as young as it is, hopefully it’ll just be a …

Home Server Power Pack 3 Brings Deeper MCE Integration

It looks as though maybe, just maybe, Microsoft gets it.  Or is at least starting to understand that people want to bring the different technologies MS produces together.
Power Pack 3 for Windows Home Server went beta today.  I’ve had a chance to install it but not much time to play so you can expect more info and a screencast early next week.  The best info so far has been provided by the Windows Home Server Team Blog.
