HD Sportsman Oct. 5-9

It’s October, so that mean’s Major League Baseball playoffs. Things kick of Tuesday (see Spotlight below). The NLDS schedules are set, but both AL series’ are waiting to see what happens Tuesday and haven’t been scheduled yet. Vs. kicks off it’s NHL slate Tuesday night, and The Deuce has Tuesday college football. Seems like just a few weeks ago Tuesday was going to be National Date Night and this week, it’s packed.

HD Sportsman Sept. 28-Oct. 2

After two weeks of dead air on Tuesday night, the ESPN family saves us with baseball and football this week. The NHL season kicks off Friday (Vs. 3 p.m. 1080i) when Detroit and St. Louis play the first of two games from Sweden. The WNBA finals start Tuesday on “The Deuce” and Major League Baseball wraps up its last week of the regular season. ESPN will choose games that have playoff implications to air. UPDATED – ESPN will be in Detroit for the Tigers final series’ against Minnesota and Chicago.

Conference play is starting for much of the college football world, and any last grasp at playoff spots will likely happen this weekend in MLB. However, the spotlight is on Atlanta where the last tournament of the PGA Playoffs happens.

HD Sportsman Sept. 21-25

Another week with no live sports on Tuesday night. We might have to declare this national date night if this keeps happening. All in all, a pretty uneventful week. All the regular suspects are there including baseball, college football on Thursday and Friday and NFL Monday Night Football. The WNBA also starts its conference finals on Wednesday.

Around these parts, fall is definitely in the air. It’s been cool at night, leaves are changing color and football is the topic of choice. However, with the Tigers on the verge of their first division title in 22 years, playoff baseball is pushing football for air time. Note this post originally appeared on Living High Def. Weeknights are such a letdown now that weekends are so full of sport. Heck, this week there isn’t even a live event on Tuesday at all (perfect date night guys). Still, the first Monday Night Football of the season is nothing to scoff at, and you’ve got a doubleheader this week. Note this was originally published at Living High Def. Our weekends are so much busier now that football is back. However, the highlight this weekend might be the U.S. Open tennis finals on Saturday and Sunday on CBS (1080i). A early season NFC North battle pits Chicago against Green Bay Sunday night at 8 p.m. on NBC (1080i) and USC visits the Horseshoe at 8 p.m. Saturday night on ESPN in college football (720p).
