Entertainment 2.0-Episode 68: FINALLY!!!!!

First we want to apologize to those who join us live every week.  When we’re going to be having multiple people on with us, it helps to cut out the live stuff to conserve bandwidth.  Unfortunately it didn’t help much this week due to software errors.  But while the audio quality isn’t going to be what you’re used to, the content is superb.
Josh and I are joined this week by Jose Ortiz of the TDL Mobile Show and AJ Peck, writer and sometimes co-host for The Home Server …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 66: Attack of the Image Constraint Token

We’re back again folks and Josh made sure that it would be a rousing episode.  We of course take time to go through all the the listener email this week and we thank all of you.
Josh’s Hockey Minute returns this week and we find out that if you stopped watching hockey four years ago because of the strike, you should probably start again!
Both VMC with TV Pack and Windows 7 Media Center received updates this week and we’ve got you covered on what’s included.  Not really a whole lot …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 65: The Hockey Minute

Once again we return as ready as ever to answer your questions and mull the intricacies of Media Center.  We had a lot of fun on this week’s show and got some good information out to you, our listeners.
First up this week is Boxee and Windows Media Center Integration 1.0.  A new tool, this app will place a tile in Media Center linked to Boxee and through magic in the background will close Media Center and open Boxee when selected.  It does the process in reverse once you’re ready …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 64: The Slamingest Episode EVAR!

You read that right.  Slamingest is now a word.  So much so that I’ve added it to the dictionary so that it doesn’t get that red squiggly line under it.  I might have coined it, but after listening to our show, you’ll know that it’s James Montemagno who’s made it famous.  James is the owner of RevoHTPC.com and he’s joined us this week to share his experiences with the Acer AspireRevo PC he uses as his Media Center.  I’ve been curious about the Revo for a long time and …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 63: HD or Nothin’…maybe.

The big show returns this week with discussions on whether or not SD content is even worth it!  I personally can’t imagine it but some people out there will skip content just because it’s not HD.  Josh and I take time to clear out our opinions on the subject.
We also go right through the news of the week.  It was a bigger news week than we’ve had lately.  S1 Digital has released a 100 disk Blu-ray changer that integrates with either Windows Media Center PCs or Windows Home Servers.  …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 62: Appletainment 2.0. Wait…what?

Even though I promised not to bring it up, Josh forced the issue and we end up spending part of this week’s show talking about Apple’s latest device, the iPad.  While neither Josh nor I can personally see a lot of use for the device when compared to your standard netbook, some people seem to think it’s a great thing.  We at least try to relate it to Media Center as with the right apps, it could make an interesting addition to your digital life.
iPad announcements aside, we talk …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 61: Handy Manny!

Back once again and trust me folks, the audio quality is much, much better this week.  Skype decided to play along and you won’t have to listen to us sounding like we’re in a tunnel.  Hopefully we won’t have any issues for awhile.
As for the content of the show, well, it was a slow week!  Josh and I take time to discuss using DVBLink to create network tuners and how this my come into play within the Media Center/Extender ecosystem.  Some of our UK listeners have been working hard …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 60: Revenge of the Skype

As the title would suggest, this isn’t our best week audio quality-wise.  It seems that Skype simply didn’t want to work with us and as such, we’re having to provide a lower quality show to our listeners this week.  Never fear however.  We’ll hopefully return next week sounding much better.  Well, as good as we can sound without changing hosts.
That said, we spend this week reviewing CES news and talking the finer points of Ceton vs SiliconDust.  As well, we discuss MediaRoom integration into Media Center and the Xbox …

Poll: HTPC vs. Extender

Yesterday Ben Drawbaugh and I got into it a little back and forth on Twitter about the HTPC and using it as a HTPC directly connected to your display. Whether that is your tv, your projector or some other display medium or in the case of Ben using your HTPC more as a server in a closet up and out of the way basically running as a headless unit serving up extenders.
Back in July Ben and myself joined Josh (the other Josh) and Adam on Entertainment 2.0 Episode 37 part …

Entertainment 2.0-Episode 59: 2010 Media Center Prediction Show

Welcome back and welcome to 2010!  For this, our first official show of 2010, we’re joined by none other than THE Custom Integrator, Derek Flickinger.  He’s bringing his industry expertise to Entertainment 2.0 for the week.
For those of you wondering why we’d be releasing a CES and 2010 prediction show after the Microsoft CES keynote, well, we recorded right before Mr. Ballmer took the stage and snuck in our final predictions for you.  We didn’t just talk CES though.  We walk our way all the way through 2010 so …
