Josh and Richard tried to keep episode 164, and to get the live show started on time this week. Only one of those goals were accomplished, but that’s okay! As usual, the show was kicked off by some great listener feedback before Josh made a correction on the topic of DVD ripping from the last few weeks. After that Richard filled us in on some very interesting Windows Phone rumors. Then Josh found a way to make Richard really angry, by talking about the latest CableCARD numbers. Here’s the rundown of this week’s show:

August 20, 2009. Since that time, we’ve recorded 100 episodes of our little podcast. Couldn’t have done it without all of you that listen. For this show, we welcome back original co-host Adam Thursby and the three of us spend some time looking back on nearly three years of HD-related news and information, including some humorous news stories from the early days, and a general amazement that the first Blu-ray we reviewed was “Ghost Town”.

We wrap the extended show with our look at the best in Blu from 2011. Check out the full list (save a few additions from Phil/Adam) at Doblu.com.

Finally, in celebration of the century mark, we have a pair of Blu-ray packs to give away. The first features a handful of IMAX 3D discs including Arabia, Mummies Secrets of the Pharaoh, Zach’s Flying Adventure, The Ultimate Wave Tahiti, and Kenny Chesney’s 3D concert. Now that we’re all a couple of weeks out of the Consumer Electronics Show there haven’t been any new products to talk about, but many of our favorite products have been updated. Some of those updates have been good, while others were changed through external forces, and not for the better. Also this week, Paramount jumped into the UltraViolet game. Richard let’s us know if they’ve managed to fix all of the issues we have with the digital movie delivery service. Josh also fills us in on how he’s using Windows Media Center for his Super Bowl party, and he offers some suggestions for how you could use Media Center at your party. We kick things of with word of Paramount offering Ultraviolet titles, sans disc, for $16 and up. The Xbox 720 rumor mill heated up with news of Blu-ray, Kinect 2, massive specs, and anti-used gaming. Also, rumors abound that Microsoft is dumping its points-based currency. Matt reviews Godzilla, one of his all-time favorites. This week Josh was able to sit down with Mark Terborg, the man behind Recorded TV HD. It’s a Windows Media Center plugin that has been getting a lot of attention over the last few months, and deservedly so! Mark’s plugin adds a wealth of new features to the recorded television interface within Media Center, and Mark is constantly releasing new versions which are packed with new features. It’s hard to believe, but the final episode of the Entertainment 2.0 podcast for 2011 is now upon us! This week Josh and Richard are back with former host, Adam Thursby, for the annual Holiday Spectacular! No one could have predicted the year that was 2011, but in late December hindsight truly is 20/20. This week the guys take a look back at all of the good things, and some of the not-so-good things that made this year special. The trio go through their best and worst movies of the year. Is it possible that the same movie could end up in both lists? After that the guys picked the biggest and best HTPC tech product of the year, and what they felt was the worst or most disappointing. After that they looked ahead to 2012, more specifically, CES 2012 to try and guess what might be making the news in the new year. To wrap up the show Richard surprised Josh and Adam with a lightning round of questions. Hopefully you’ll have as much fun listening as the guys did while recording!
