I'm with you on TV Pack, it wasn't stable for me but it was never released to the public, it was only sent to the OEM's(That got leaked) and people talk about like it was a windows update…

I don't know why you guys cap on TV Pack so much. I have used it ever since I went from MCE 2005 to Vista. The only problems I had with it was a guide update problem(MS problem) and one of the KB updates that ended with the # 615(cannot remember). I only get my TV from OTA and when I changed to Vista I installed TV Pack to get sub-channels since Vista or MCE 2005 did not get them. I am now on Windows 7 and it works just fine.

Sorry guys I'm not sure I'm excited about you guys being MVP's. It seems going forward that it would make you less likely to question or be critical of M$. As a MVP don't you have a responsibility to now represent them? Also doesn't this also mean you can't really speculate on Media Center stuff any more? As you said since you will be given early access to M$ stuff you won't be able to speculate or talk about rumors.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but this worries me that we will even see less objectivity on the show and have something like Ian's podcast which is at times a M$ commercial...

Great show guys as always. Thanks again for the D-Link extender. I haven't posted in a while since I recently changed jobs and moved. Josh, that's exactly what I had tried to do a couple months ago but never figure out how to get DVRMSTB to work right, I'm pretty sure I didn't set it up right. A tutorial would be great. And Adam is right… while you're at it you may as well just make a new profile to simplify the whole process.

Hi guys,

I think you might have saved me from prematurely going bold. I installed Make MKV today and it works like a charm for DVDs. I love the fact that it keeps the video stream intact and only makes an .mkv out of it. This I how I already rip my Blurays, straight copy of the video and audio and then the subs I need. It does take four steps though (AnyDVD HD + tsMuxer + suprip + mkvmerge) and with a bit of luck I can use Make MKV for all of that.

To the person wanting to build a quite/powerful PC for 7MC under $1500:

This summer, I built a quite PC for around $600-$650 before adding tuner costs and OS license (since I was running Win 7 RC).

Intel P8500
Nvidia 9300 based motherboard (includes onboard GPU with HD vid acceleration and audio out over HDMI)
4 GB Ram
1.5 TB HD
System Drive (just reused from the stack I have laying around)
Antec NSK2480 case with included quite 380w PSU ( bought on sale for cheap)
Scythe Mini Ninja HSF (run fanless)
3 Scythe fans run undervoltage to keep them slow and quite)

This all runs very quitely and I've rarely ever seen CPU hit 50% usage. I have 2 clear QAM, 2 ATSC (HDHomeRun), and 1 analog tuner.
