Managed Copy Up and Running

3651169038_0d7d334537 CEDIA continues to roll on and while there’s a lot of great hardware news coming out of Atlanta, the content for that hardware is just as important and Pioneer is the first company to show off Managed Copy.

The disk ripped at approximately 4x speed and according to (once again) Ben Drawbaugh, quality was good due to transcoding during playback.

    My favorite part of that video is when the Pioneer rep. says “…I can't imagine the studios charging anything for this…”

    Nice proof of concept. I really hope that this gets into the 7MC/WHS enviroment. It would be an awesome selling point and make it as easy as ripping a CD. People could just possibly use this.
