Placeshifting Your TV with Sage HD-200

image I’m not a SageTV user myself, but I always enjoy learning and if there’s one place I’ve found that you can learn about SageTV it’s over at GeekTonic.  Brent Evans knows his stuff and he also knows others who do as well.

Today Brent published a guest post from Dave detailing how you can use your SageTV HD-200 extender to watch live and recorded TV while you’re away from home.  I have a friend who currently does this to watch his home programming while in the mountains of NC on the weekends.

From Dave’s article:

Summary: Setting up and using the HD200 as a placeshifter.
Scenario: Vacationing in a location with Highspeed wireless only.
Server Setup: WHS, Q6600, 3gigs Ram, 20m Cable Connection with 1.5 up, HDPVR, HD-HomeRun, Sage 6.5.9 (yes I know it’s old).
HD200: Wireless connection through laptop with 1200Kbs down through Internet Sharing Services on Vista.

Head over to GeekTonic to learn more on how you can watch your TV while you’re traveling.
